Extra fine Merino wool: properties
Extra fine Merino wool is the raw material used for most of our dog sweaters, thanks to its natural properties such as breathability, elasticity and extreme softness.
Did you know that natural fiber has unique features that makes it particularly valuable?
In fact, Merino wool is:
- soft and silky
- has a self-regulating capacity, insulating from both cold and heat
- maintains fit and doesn’t lose consistency
- doesn’t irritate the skin thanks to its breathable and anti-allergic properties
- extremely hygienic thanks to the structure of its fibres, which prevent the accumulation of dust and dirt
- antibacterial and anti-odor, as well as not requiring frequent washing
- water repellent
- sustainable and biodegradable
Our Merino wool luxury sweaters differ from a traditional wool garment, thanks to the natural properties and superior quality of the fibres, which are thinner, softer and more elastic. Thanks to its particular shape, Merino wool acts as an effective thermal insulator: the particularly curled structure of its fibres, in fact, allows it to retain heat optimally, thus protecting from both cold and heat (yes, Merino wool maintains our 4-legged friends stay cool even at high temperatures!).
In addition to being thinner, Merino wool fiber is also softer, less irritating when in contact with the skin and silkier to the touch. Furthermore, it can retain up to 33% of its weight in moisture, leaving the surface completely dry and without giving a wet feeling.
Mohair Wool
Mohair is a fiber obtained from the hair of the Angora goat, with a long, soft and shiny fleece: natural properties that make it perfect for giving life to our sweaters with a “fluffy” effect like a cloud! Vaporous, precious and resistant, Mohair wool has excellent insulating properties that make it warm in winter and cool in summer and is known for being a natural yarn that gives garments an extremely bright and shiny effect.

Alpaca Wool
